Table Tennis is back!! TUESDAY AUGUST 3rd - NEW STARTING TIME 9AM

Hello Everyone

This recent Lockdown #5 has been hard for us all in Victoria but following recent announcements, we are very pleased to advise that the Bellarine Keen-Agers Table Tennis Club is back again!  

Our first session will be on Tuesday, 3 August with start time at  9am.  

Please read all the updated news we have for you below and this will be explained in further detail at Morning Teas.

Marcus Hill Hall COVID Precautions - The Council of Greater Geelong has given us the go-ahead to commence play at Marcus Hill Hall with these required important COVID precautions to keep everyone safe:

- Use the QR scan code and hand sanitiser on entry to the hall and also continue to sign the attendance book
- Wear a mask at all times except whenever you are playing
- The Club must now have a COVID Marshall to oversee precautions at every session
- No more than 5 in the kitchen at one time
- All playing equipment to be sanitised at the end of each session
- Please do not attend even if you have the mildest cold or flu like symptoms.

Change to the Keen-Ager’s Member Age Limits - the Committee has decided to lower the age limit from 55+ to 50+ in an effort to try and attract new members, as session attendance has decreased, particularly on Fridays.

Tuesday Evening Sessions postponed - unfortunately due to the small attendance numbers at the Tuesday evening sessions, the Committee has decided to suspend them and review interest in early October when the weather improves.

Past Members Morning Tea - unfortunately our Morning Tea for Past Members planned for 22nd July was not able to go ahead as planned, which is a shame as we had a wonderful response.  We are still very keen to hold this special Morning Tea but as soon as we have got through this Lockdown and there is some form of normality, we will schedule a new date for the Morning Tea and let everyone know.

New start time of 9am for all sessions - another initiative to be introduced to hopefully improve participation is to commence play start time from 9am. Members will be canvassed in October to see if this time change should continue.

Club Bulletin Board - Owen Ellis is now looking after the Bulletin Board and will be adding articles regularly.  If you only wish to have a read of what’s going on, you no longer need to log in with a password unless you want to add a comment or look at member contact details.
