Underlying Principle
The aim of the program is to provide persons “over 55’s” with the opportunity to participate in non-competitive Table Tennis.  Keen-Agers’ primary focus is on ‘having fun’ as well as reaping the physical, social and mental health benefits through playing table tennis.
Bellarine Keen-Agers Table Tennis Club is committed to
Having FUN!
Making FRIENDS!
Being ACTIVE
ENJOYING recreational Table Tennis!
Venue
Play is held at the Marcus Hill Hall, 662-670 Banks Road, Marcus Hill.  There is ample off-street parking available.
Fees
There is an annual Registration fee set by Table Tennis Victoria (TTVic) which entitles players to social membership with TTV and insurance.   A session fee set by the Club is required to cover the cost of venue hire, provision of morning tea and other operating costs.
New persons expressing interest in joining the Club will have their first play session subsidised in full.
Skill Levels
The Keen-Agers program is not based on particular skills or ability, it is solely for enjoyment and social interaction coupled with light exercise.  There is no structured or ability based format when participating in Keen-Agers Table Tennis.  All levels are catered for and beginners are most welcome.

5.    Play Sessions

8:30 – 8:50
8:50 – 9:10
9:10 – 9:30

10:20 – 10:40

As there are only five tables available for use, it may be necessary for players to ‘sit out’ a session.  This will be managed by a Session Co-ordinator, using a ‘rotation’ system based on the morning ‘player’s sign in’ book.

6.    Code of Play
The Bellarine Keen-Agers Club strongly supports gamesmanship during play and players must refrain from any form of confrontation or the use of inappropriate language.  If a dispute arises over a point, a call for a ‘replay’ is the correct option.

All members are required to help with setting up play equipment prior to commencing play.  Similarly, at the time of completing the day’s activities, all members are to assist with dismantling and storing all equipment.

Players must not leap or climb over a court/area divider.  The dividers are portable and therefore can be slid across in order to move from one court to another.

10.  Tea break tasks
All members must take a turn at:

  • Setting up for tea break (cups, tea, coffee etc)
  • Serving tea and coffee
  • Washing and cleanup after tea break
  • Washing of dish cloths

11.  Children or grand-children at club activity
As our insurance does not cover any injury to a child and there is potential for a child to disrupt play for other players, the club will not support children attending the play sessions.
12.  Club Functions
Club functions will be organised throughout the year, with the view to developing fellowship amongst all players and their partners.  Club members and their partners are encouraged to support and attend Club Functions.

13.  Club Administrative Team (CAT)
CAT members are elected by the member base at the AGM.   CAT members are charged with delivering the provision of Club management; member care services; and formalising a strategy for future such services.
